Kyiv Temple
We pronounce it Kiev but over here it is pronounced "Keev." Ukraine was dedicated for the preaching of the gospel in 1991. The Kyiv Temple was announced in July 1998, the groundbreaking was held in 2007, and now 12 years after being first announced there is the first temple in what was then the former Soviet Union. This temple will cover 9 countries and serve some 31,000 members of the church in Eastern Europe. The saints are so thrilled to have their very own temple. Dedication of this temple occured on August 29, 2010.
